Partial final art for the cover of "Gaijin-American Prisoner of War", written and illus.d by me, publ.d by Disney/Hyperion. A while back I showed rejected cover sketches for "Gaijin". This is art from the one that was selected. We're putting together the cover in layers and this is one of them. Didn't have time to scan the art prior to shipping it so this is a low res iPhone photo. "Gaijin" will hit the shelves April 14, 2014! Water color, pencil, gouache, 2013.

Airport sketch. Way to much thinking going on these days. Turn off the electronic device, and just draw. No thinking or batteries required. Just fun. Pen&Ink, 2011.

Final art for an editorial column called "On the Mark" for ComputerWorld magazine. Used to have great fun every week putting these illustrations together. The articles were written by Mark Hall. He'd give me the basics on the content and I'd get busy coming up with a visual metaphor for the idea. The wonderful art director on these jobs was my friend Stephanie Brockway. Water color, gouache, 2004.

Final art for the cd cover of "Ayodhya", a fantastic compilation of sacred music produced by my friend Josh Cook. Music performed by "The Weavers of The Name"- the talented Josh, Aae Kae and Natalie Spisak, Bhakta Das of Hamsa Yoga and yours truly. This is the mighty Hanuman, the Embodiment of Strength, Tenacity and Love. When we say that a friend has "got a big heart." we're acknowledging our friend's display of Hanuman Power. Pencil, 2013.

Time to turn off the radio and t.v.. The media vultures are now out in full force- presenting very little in the way of new information but tremendous amounts of teasing tidbits that keep us terrified and tuned in. Terror sells.
When something new happens, we'll know.
Bless us all, everyone. But especially our sisters and brothers in Boston who've been harmed and the families of those who have died.

"Grab the Fish!", but don't hurt it. Fish don't mind being grabbed now and then. It's the squeezing and shaking that generally follow the grabbing that gets on their nerves. Pen&Ink, 2010.

Illustration for an editorial in Forbes Magazine. The article covered the insatiable greed in the American banking system back in 1987. Yes, that's right- even back in 1987 our banking system was corrupt. Hard to believe, huh? Water color, pen&ink, 1987.
